I’ve done more gaming in 2017 than I can remember – either for that year or before. At this point it feels a bit like trying to count a giant treasure hoard. Here are some numbers I can just about manage.
So, the experiment of taking an Unknown Armies setup and fast-pacing it through Monsters of the Week was a lot of fun.
How things played out was inevitably different as the MOTW hunters had very different motives to the UA cabal. But there were some emotional and situational echoes from the one shot that helped me make better GMing decisions in the campaign episode.
The Unknown Armies campaign I’m running is quite a complex beast. I’ve been thinking about how to tighten it up and simplify it, without sacrificing its essential occult conspiracy richness. So I’m spinning out a couple of storylines for a frightful Monster of the Week Halloween mini-arc. Without even playing the results, I’m already seeing benefits through the prep process.
